Surprised maybe not be a strong enough word to describe my feelings about this topic. But for the sense of being polite and constructive, lets leave it be for now.
Some very intelligent people seem to believe that Mr. Obama in his approximately 50 days of office has created the disastrous financial situation that exists not only in the USA but in the world. Go figure that!
Living here in Northern Europe some 30% around the world from the USA, we are devastated by the current economics and that happened late last year. Now how could the new US President had such an effect on our economy even before he became President?
Where is the common sense and the ability to apply logic in these folks thinking?
Quoting from an email from one of these folks "I don't know how much attention you pay to the U.S. stock market and conditions in general here but the "change" you and many others wanted is here and it's rapidly driving our country right into the ground."
Now lets attempt to apply some logic. The current economic collapse has roots some where in the policies from several past presidents. Maybe in the first Bush Whitehouse and perhaps fueled by President Clinton's policies as well.
Not being smart enough and schooled in all this high finance; I can't be sure exactly where it started but common sense tells us that this level of problem didn't happen overnight.
Secondly, if the previous power base led by George W. Bush was so clever, how come they didn't ride their white horse into the scene last October and announce THE PLAN, win the elections and be the heroes today.
Perhaps the common sense answer is that they didn't know what to do either!
So again I ask my question???Why do some people today blame now President Obama for this mess?
Perhpas this current mess was another result of GREED? The type of Greed which brought down the Soviet Union and other powerful governments before.
Just look at Mr. Madoff, what else can you call his behaviour? It must have been GREED!
So what is the better plan?
President Obama and his team have proposed a long list of things to do. Is it all the right stuff? I certainly don't have the ability to know and I am sure they don't know it all either.
But I quote again form this email recently received "All we hear is doom and gloom. The annointed Messiah speaks on TV daily telling us how bad it is and insisting his democrat congress quickly pass legislation spending billions of dollars. The banks are on their way to being nationalized and the government owns a substantial stake in the auto industry's big three among other businesses. "
It is BAD ! common sense tell us its bad.
So what to say, its all OK folks, take two Aspirin and go to be and you will feel better tomorrow?
Where is the trust, what happened to it? Where is the common sense in folks today?
This is the time to find common ground, time to band together with a team spririt of "Yes We Can" and find a way to dig ourselves out of this mess. All this negative thinking will do nothing more than dig a deeper hole as our economic grave.
